Our Staff

As a staff, we thank you for entrusting your children to us, and we want you to know without any doubt that we take that privilege seriously. We consider it a blessing from God, and we are excited to have your family as part of Little LIFE Academy’s inaugural year.

The desire of our hearts is to serve the Lord through serving the children and families of LLA, and we strive to do so with the utmost excellence. Please do not ever hesitate to let us know how we may support and pray for your family.

Ellen Solbakken (Director):

Mrs. Ellen grew up in Cornelius and has worked in the field of education for over 35 years. Her background includes work teaching high school, preschool and transitional kindergarten as well as serving as a child care administrator. She has a B.A. degree in Spanish from UNC-Greensboro as well as college level training in Child Care Administration. Mrs. Ellen has served as a workshop leader/teacher trainer, focusing on incorporating faith throughout the preschool day and on Making Great Readers. Mrs. Ellen has a heart for faith-based ministry to children and families and is grateful that God has allowed her to serve here at LLA. She and her husband Steve are active at LIFE Fellowship and have two sons (Jon and Jimmy) as well as two grandsons (Caleb and Silas) who live in the area. She lives in Kannapolis with her husband and their dog Chief.


 

Pam Morel (2’s Lead Teacher):

Mrs. Pam, originally from Florida, now lives with her husband Dave and her family in Mooresville and is an active member of LIFE Fellowship. She and her husband of 32 years have homeschooled their four children for a total of 27 years; she knows the value of faith-based education. Mrs. Pam also worked with church youth for over ten years in High Point and currently serves with 3-year-olds in the KidLIFE ministry here at LIFE Fellowship. Her passion is to serve people, young and old, and she looks forward to loving the LLA children and teaching them the love of God.


 

Maryann Wabalas (Afternoon Teacher):

Mrs. Maryann has over 30 years of experience working with children from infants to middle schoolers. Originally from New York, she graduated from George Mason University with a B.A. degree in math. She continued on to graduate school for her teacher certification, and taught middle and high school math as well as coached lacrosse, soccer, and basketball. She has also had her own math tutoring business and refereed lacrosse and field hockey on a national level. Since moving to Huntersville with her husband and two daughters in 2004, she has served as a preschool teacher, after school teacher, nanny, and Brownie troop leader as well as a coach, team mom and tutor. Mrs. Maryann has a passion for teaching and is very excited to be a part of LLA and to bring God’s teachings to little minds. Mrs. Maryann attends St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church in Mooresville.
